Jobs With Justice is a national network of local coalitions comprised of labor unions, worker centers, community, faith-based, and student organizations. The national staff provides strategic support to nearly 40 autonomous local coalitions, builds networks on common issues, shapes public discourse and leads strategic campaigns to build power for working people. Position Overview:
The Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient functioning of our national office by overseeing daily administrative, logistical, and operational needs. This position is responsible for maintaining office facilities, supporting organizational events, and managing technology systems to ensure seamless operations. The Operations Coordinator reports to the Operations Director and works closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless organizational operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive and highly organized professional with a strong sense of ownership of our office space and is committed to supporting the mission and values of our organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage onsite and offsite operational functions.
- Provide technical assistance and administrative support.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies, compliance measures, and security standards.
- Coordinate event logistics across the organization.
Detailed areas of work include:
Office Management & Administrative Support
- Manage the organization’s daily office and administrative functions by being the onsite point person, generally from 9:30am-5:30pm with some flexibility as needed.
- Responsible for facilities maintenance including furniture and equipment, liaise with property management, security, and maintenance to ensure a functional, efficient and professional office space.
- Work with Operations Director to develop and maintain office policies that comply with security, safety and health standards and monitor OSHA compliance.
- Handle processing and distribution of mail, shipping and deliveries.
- Direct procurement of office supplies and lease negotiations on equipment/systems.
- Monitor main phone and email accounts, offering assistance or directing inquiries to appropriate team members.
- Provide reception support and welcome visitors to the office.
- Conduct operations and technology orientation for new staff, consultants, interns, sub-lessees.
- Work with Operations Director to support the development and monitoring of new and existing operations and technology plans and projects.
- Serve as the point of contact for operations and technology vendors, responsible for account management, service and billing.
- Maintain office asset and IT Inventories, physical and electronic records and archival materials.
- Catalog and archive JWJ records at the national office and the collection at the Kheel Center, Cornell University.
- Administer the webstore for merchandise fulfillment and inventory management.
- Develop and maintain an Operations Guide for staff and Procedures Manual for the Operations Team.
Technical Support
- Provide frontline, technical assistance and troubleshooting for staff.
- Set up computer systems, manage user access, and coordinate technology upgrades to ensure business continuity.
- Oversee office audiovisual (AV) and unified communication systems, ensuring functionality and user support.
- Manage internal communication tools, including listservs, shared calendars, and Microsoft 365 platforms.
Logistics & Travel
- Provide logistical support onsite for meetings hosted by JWJ national or organizational partners and offsite for events such as national staff meetings and retreats.
- Coordinate with participants on event communications, handling RSVPs, and overseeing logistics.
- Arrange travel for partners and attendees, including flights, lodging, and ground transportation.
- Oversee event logistics such as interpretation services, technology needs, catering, and childcare, consistent with policies and guidelines set by Operations Director and event lead.
- Serve on planning team for major organizational events – may include Awards Celebration, National Conference, Network Gathering, National Training Program and programmatic strategy meetings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in the nonprofit sector, preferably with mid-to-large organizations, including at least one year of direct experience with operations, facilities management, event coordination, or administrative support.
- Clear alignment with the mission and values of the organization.

- Comfortable with technology and enjoys troubleshooting, exploring, and learning new tools and systems; a resourceful problem-solver who proactively seeks solutions and improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, experience with basic IT troubleshooting and familiarity using work collaboration and project management platforms (i.e. Slack, Asana, Trello).
- Experience coordinating with vendors and managing contracts preferred.
- Flexibility to travel as needed in performance of duties.
- Multilingual fluency is a bonus but not required.

Location: This is an onsite position based in the Washington DC metro area requiring at least 4 days of work in the office. There will be occasional after-hours and weekend work.
Physical Demands: This role is primarily office-based, involving a combination of desk work, computer use, and in-person communication with colleagues and partners via phone, video conferencing, and email. It requires mobility within the office to manage facilities, organize supplies, and support event logistics. Lifting and carrying of office supplies, equipment, or event materials (typically up to 25-50 lbs) is involved. Occasional travel required for organizational meetings and events.
Salary: Starting salary is $74,405-$80,405, pending experience as referenced within the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Position Summary:
The Communications Director leads the development and implementation of the communications strategy and plan for Missouri Jobs with Justice. The Communications Director designs and executes communications strategies for electoral, policy and organizing campaigns while working closely with policy and organizing team members and managing the digital organizer position.
The ideal candidate is:
- Someone who is passionate about progressive change and interested in building power for workers, low-income communities and communities of color in Missouri.
- A consumer of news, politics and digital media who can capitalize on opportunities to get our message out and shift the conversation on issues that impact workers and their communities.
- A communications strategist who has a proven track record on meeting goals and who understands how to analyze conditions and leverage opportunities to move messages and shift narratives.
- Someone with experience using a race-class narrative when approaching messaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a strategic communications plan that positions Missouri Jobs with Justice as the go-to resource on issues impacting Missouri workers and their communities among media, policy makers and key elected officials.
- Manage the digital organizer and oversee the digital channels to ensure consistency of brand, voice, and messaging across various platforms and lead strategies to increase online to offline engagement.
- Build relationships with state and national reporters; work with Executive, Policy and Organizing directors to identify news content; engage leaders and other organizations to develop op-eds, blog posts, etc.
- Manage production of printed branded materials, collateral and digital content; coordinates relationship with and production timelines with graphic designer, video editors, printers and other communications consultants as needed.
- Work closely with organizers and leaders to develop communications trainings and materials for activists and create messaging materials for member organizations.
- Oversee organization website updates (WordPress)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience working in communications for a progressive organization, political campaign or labor union.
- Deep understanding of the Missouri political landscape and the issues faced by low-income and communities of color in Missouri.
- Experience developing and executing successful strategic plans for traditional and digital communications.
- Strong track record of successful placement in top-tier media outlets and talking with and maintaining relationships with reporters and editors.
- Demonstrated success in writing and editing for a range of audiences, with a variety of communications content, including press releases, statements, speeches, op eds, blogs, fact sheets, website content, emails, messaging guides and talking points, scripts, and social media content.
- Experience with WordPress, Action Network, Every Action or other CRMs.
- Flexible, team-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Past experience in organizing and/or graphic design experience is a plus.
- Position is based out of any MOJwJ office (Kansas City, St. Louis, St. Charles, Columbia or Springfield) but must have the ability to travel within Missouri regularly.
- Individual must have a car, drivers license and auto insurance.
Salary range: $75,000-85,000

Position overview:
The Executive Coordinator organizes the schedule, plans, and day-to-day work of the executive department, with a particular focus on the Executive Director. The role sets up the department to successfully advance the goals of the organization. The Executive Coordinator is accountable to the Executive Director but directly supervised by the Deputy Director of Organizational Strength, including participation in the Operations Department and Organizational Strength team meetings. The Executive Coordinator will regularly check in with all executive staff, working with the Executive Director on key areas of work and the deputy directors on work planning and department workflow.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Organize schedule, inbox, travel and administrative needs of the Executive Director.
- Lead, coordinate and anticipate needs for organizational projects that involve Executive Leadership.
- Sharpen feedback loops between the Executive Director and Deputy Directors.
- Engage other staff in Executive Department projects.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive information regarding the organization’s operations, management and finances.
Detailed areas of work include:
Support for Executive Director:
- Organize daily briefs to orient the Executive Director to priorities and daily report-outs signaling shifts in preparation for the coming week
- Manage the Executive Director’s email by responding promptly to priority communications, triaging follow-ups, and screening messages with diplomacy.
- Manage the Executive Director’s calendar to ensure sustainable scheduling aligned with their rubric, including ample meeting-free work blocks and preventing overbooking.
- Support the Executive Director with travel and meeting logistics, including scheduling, transportation, lodging, materials, and reimbursements.
- Coordinate with Institutional Advancement to manage the Executive Director’s public profile, including bio updates, media, and statements. Support their integration into key projects and events, ensuring preparation for media and speaking engagements.
- Assist the Executive Director by proposing clear next steps to advance key work and projects, anticipating need to schedule work time, supplementing research and follow-up with people internally and externally.
- Serves as the primary contact for individuals and organizations seeking information from the Executive Director, ranking these requests by priority based on Executive Department rubrics, and ensuring outgoing communication is timely and accurate.
- Act as a representative for the Executive Director in meetings she cannot attend, taking notes and capturing key takeaways requiring the Executive Director’s attention.
Support for Executive Leadership (including Deputy Directors):
- Staff the Executive Department, including but not limited to planning and scheduling, capturing takeaways from discussions, tracking workflows and deadlines and managing urgent requests
- Work with the Executive Leadership to manage complex and rapidly changing strategic priorities.
- Align schedules of the Executive Director and Deputy Directors, including overlap in travel and ensuring at least one member of the executive leadership is available if/when others are out.
- Maintain platforms for quickly dispersing information across the executive department.
- Support executive team projects, such as preparing/formatting presentations and/or materials in advance of the Executive Director or Deputy Directors speaking externally
- Liaison with other departments to ensure alignment and effective implementation of executive department goals.
- Support deputy directors in communicating with external partners, especially when they are substituting for the Executive Director.
Board and Governance Support:
- Maintain backwards plan/workflow to prepare for board meetings.
- Send official communications with board members and their assistants to ensure participation in full board and board committee activities.
- Manage record of board terms, demographics, composition, contact information.
- Organize logistics, housing, travel for in-person board meetings and activities.
- Capture meeting minutes at all board related meetings based on Executive Department rubric.
- Manage additional board projects, as required.
Qualifications:
