PRIVACY POLICY
Jobs with Justice is firmly committed to Internet privacy. We have created this privacy policy to explain what kinds of information we collect through our website and how we use the information that we collect. Jobs with Justice may modify this policy from time to time by posting an updated policy on the site, so we encourage you to check this page when revisiting this website.
The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this website. The type and amount of information we receive depends on how you use the site.
Website Usage/Information Collection When you visit the Jobs with Justice website, we automatically obtain information from you about the name of your Internet service provider, the browser and type of computer you are using, the website that referred you to us, the pages you request and the date and time of those requests. We use this information on an aggregate basis to generate statistics and measure site activity to improve the usefulness of the site to our visitors. For example, we use this information to track which pages are most popular among visitors as a whole. We do not track the pages you or any individual visitor may look at during a visit to our site and we do not collect any other information from you or about you, unless you provide that information to us.
Cookies A cookie is a piece of data stored on a user's hard drive containing information about the user. The Jobs with Justice website may use cookies for measuring aggregate web statistics, including number of monthly visitors, number of repeat visitors, most popular webpages and other information. Jobs with Justice will also use cookies to facilitate your online visit by maintaining data that you provide for online activism activities so that you will not need to resubmit certain information. Jobs with Justice does not use cookies to track what specific pages an individual site visitor views.
Collection of Personally Identifiable Information Jobs with Justice provides web forms so you may engage in Jobs with Justice activities such as online activism (i.e., contact a CEO or elected official), to sign a JwJ pledge card, to place orders for products or services, to sign up to participate in a day of action, to correspond with Jobs with Justice, to donate to the Jobs with Justice Education Fund, and/or to submit a testimonial (i.e., share your story). The information we collect through these web forms, such as your name, mailing address, e-mail address, type of request you are making, is collected and stored by Jobs with Justice, or in the case of online donations, the information is collected by Convio, a third-party vendor that processes our online donations, and then shared with us. We do not, however, store your credit card information. The information that we store is used to fulfill your request, to track aggregate information about usage of these features, and to send you direct mailings, for which you may opt out. Jobs with Justice makes every effort to ensure the secure collection and transmission of your sensitive information using industry accepted data collection and encryption methodologies.
Financial Information and Payments Online donations are processed through Convio, a third-party vendor, using a secure server. Convio’s privacy policy is located at www.convio.com/convio/policies/. Although Convio shares with us the personally identifiable information that you submit when making an online donation, we do not receive your credit card number. If you send us a hard copy donation form, we shred your financial information after we process your donation. We retain your name and contact information, but not your financial information.
