Jobs With Justice: No matter how long it takes, we must count every vote.
Washington, DC – As election experts expected, the Presidential Election could not be decided in a single night. Millions of ballots – many of which were sent by mail during a pandemic – are still being counted. Jobs With Justice is joining other progressive organizations across the country to ensure that democracy is properly carried out.
Democracy only works when we count every vote. Jobs With Justice urges its members and working people to remain calm until the process is completed — and to be prepared for any outcome.
“This election happened in the middle of a pandemic — to stay safe, many of us voted by mail or voted early,” said Jobs With Justice Executive Director Erica Smiley. “For this reason, we knew it would take longer than usual to count all the results. But make no mistake, no matter how long it takes, we will work to ensure that every, single vote is counted — and no one, not even the President, will stop this effort.”
