Jobs With Justice hosted a #BlackWorkMatters Twitter Town Hall to spark conversations on the role of race and racism in the workplace and the broader economy throughout the week of Labor Day.
We brought together organizers, advocates and thought leaders from across the racial justice, economic justice and labor movements to discuss the Movement for Black Lives policy platform, systemic economic inequalities facing Black families, and initiatives that are dismantling the ways racism shapes our economy.
Moderated by MSNBC commentator, Roosevelt Institute Fellow, and Movement for Black Lives policy platform contributor Dorian Warren, the Town Hall led to #BlackWorkMatters trending on Twitter across the US on September 1.
If you missed out on the Town Hall, take a look below at highlights from the discussion. Better yet, start engaging in the conversation (in your workplace, your community and with family, or on Twitter) by posting your thoughts and ideas with the #BlackWorkMatters hashtag.
