Here at Jobs with Justice, we are thrilled to announce some exciting news: “Jobs with Justice, 25 Years, 25 Voices” is now available for purchase!
Through a series of interviews and essays, this anthology gives voice to the community, labor, immigrant, student, and faith activists that have built Jobs with Justice. Though the discussion reflects on the last 25 years of the JwJ coalitions, it also looks openly and optimistically at the next 25. It includes the perspectives of longtime national leaders, like JwJ founder and Communications Workers of America President Larry Cohen, newcomers like Ai-Jen Poo of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, and the locally based, working-class men and women who have built JwJ from the ground up.
The world today has no shortage of economic crises—or politicians and pundits who claim to have the vision that will get us out of the Great Recession. For 25 years, our labor-community coalitions at Jobs with Justice have endured the brutal vagaries of the global economy with a single alternative economic vision. By putting these ideas into practice, we have won powerful victories for the working class.
Stay tuned for news about events and festivals promoting the book happening around the country, including the launch event on September 6, at the Labor at the Crossroads Forum, which will feature a presentation on innovative labor organizing strategies by Larry Cohen.
